Applying in person to Australian companies (see
Personal Applications below).
Always obtain a job offer in writing and a contract; steer
clear of an employer who won’t provide them. An official job entitles you to
accident insurance, official protection from exploitation, redundancy payments,
state pension, superannuation and unemployment benefit, among other.
Personal Applications
Your best chance of obtaining some jobs (particularly
temporary jobs) in Australia is to apply in person, when success is often
simply a matter of being in the right place at the right time. When looking for
a job for which no special qualifications or experience are required, it isn’t
necessarily what you know, but who you know.
Many companies don’t advertise but rely on attracting
workers by word of mouth and their own vacancy boards. Always leave your name
and address with a prospective employer and (if possible) a telephone number
where you can be contacted, particularly if a job may become vacant at short
notice. Advertise the fact that you’re looking for a job with acquaintances,
friends and relatives, and anyone you come into contact with who may be able to
help.
The best way forward will be not to apply directly. There is
huge competition for jobs in Australia and its even difficult for people
already here to find a job. So I would suggest to not to apply directly unless
you have great brands in your resume and quality work experience or be prepared
to be disappointed to be not getting calls. Also this is a small job market so
if you keep sending resumes for all kinds of jobs recruiters can remember you
and it may get difficult when you actually decide to come here.
But if you have a someone or know somebody who can refer
you, the chances are much brighter to find a job. So start pulling all your
contacts here if you have any in Australia asking them for an potential
openings. Also there is a local online community for Indians in Australia
called Indianz.org which also has a group for job referrals.
Submit your visa application. If you require a
visa to work in Australia, this will be your first priority! Prospective
employers will ask about your immigration status, and having your visa (or at
least having started the application process) is a prerequisite for most job
vacancies.
How to secure a PR.?
Well, there is a set of process which has to be followed to
get the PR for a specific country. You will be assessed in terms of your
Profile, education, no. of years of experience, different certifications in
your field of work and Communication skills. You will be required to clear any
of comm skills test like, PTE, IELTS, TOEFL etc. which is not very tough if you
have prepared for it. they mainly check your communication skills and then your
qualifications with experiences which you already have else you would not have
dared to think about working in Australia or anywhere else abroad.
